LIASTUDIOS
collections

LIASTUDIOS, established in 2018 and active until 2021, was a Costa Rican fashion brand dedicated to sustainability and conscious design. Every piece was crafted locally by a small, passionate team using eco-friendly materials. Our limited-edition collections, sold online and through pop-up shops in Costa Rica, reflected a commitment to bringing thoughtfully made clothing to world. Though LIASTUDIOS has ceased production, our journey is far from over as we evolve to make an even greater impact.

We set out to offer our community comfortable homewear made from 100% natural fiber fabrics and upcycled materials. Inspired by our desire to explore the jungle and safari around us in Costa Rica, we crafted pieces that celebrate our local paradise. Prints were created using block printing techniques and fabric paint, ensuring each piece was unique. After being confined to our homes for so long, we realized the importance of enjoying and supporting local businesses, infusing this spirit into every aspect of our collection.

During difficult times where we were spending time insde, we aimed to provide comfortable homewear using natural fiber fabrics and upcycled materials. Our first swimsuit, crafted from recycled ocean nets, featured an original watercolor design. Additionally, our inaugural foulards were screen-printed with a unique reinterpretation of the traditional Costa Rican cartwheel design.

For my BA Fashion Design graduation project at Universidad Veritas, Costa Rica, in 2019, I created a commercial collection that marked the brand's first retail launch. This collection consisted of 10 outfits, all crafted from 100% natural fiber fabrics and upcycled denim sourced from thrift stores. My goal was to highlight the issue of microplastics polluting our oceans due to polyester fabrics, while also delivering a street-style conscious collection that seamlessly blended sustainability with urban fashion.
