In the Year 2042:

La Cena Magazine is a cautionary tale based on a speculative possibility of what the fashion and art industry could look like after environmental catastrophe changed the world we know today.

The magazine addresses issues of contemporary culture from an inclusive, environmentally conscious and innovative perspective that seeks to give a voice to all identities and cultures around the world.

After environmental catastrophe artists will have to adapt and their creativity will be challenged by the world they live in. By bringing together cultures and perspectives to have a seat at the same dinner table we can address the issues together and move forward as a community of environmental activist artists.

Where will you be in 20 years?

Year 2042

La Cena is an independent physical and digital platform founded in London in 2023 by a group of Latin American immigrants. We address issues of contemporary culture from an inclusive, conscious and innovative perspective that now seeks to give a voice to all identities and cultures around the world, focused on artists that live away from that place they call home.

As filmmakers, writers, curators, musicians, fashion-lovers and artists, we’ve been working with storytelling for years, each of us seeking outside and inside of us essentially for the same question: what is the story I want to tell? This question is what brings us all together.

La Cena offers a seat at the dinner table for stories to be told and storytellers to be acknowledged. For us, there’s no one answer, only the belief that the pieces put together in each edition might spark a feeling for the reader, awakening a sense of place and belonging like the one each artist needed when they left home.
